Ardenwald sign vandalized

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

Sometime between June 29 and June 30, the Ardenwald neighborhood sign at S.E. 32nd Ave. and S.E. Meek St. near Providence Milwaukie Hospital was vandalized.

The sign was broken into several pieces, but the mounting posts remained intact, indicating that the damage was not caused by a vehicle.

The sign costs about $1,100 to replace and are hand crafted.

One other sign exists high up on a terrace along S.E. Johnson Creek Blvd. near S.E. Brookside.

On New Year’s Eve, the same Ardenwald sign was destroyed after a delivery van struck the sign located in the center lane traffic island. The company reimbursed the costs for the sign replacement and mount repairs.

The signage in the photograph is at S.E. Balfour Street and S.E. 29th Ave. Other wayfinder signs may soon appear on other neighborhood streets such as S.E. 42nd Ave. and S.E. Johnson Creek Blvd.

Milwaukie snowplow crews are heading out

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Dec. 29, 2009, 4:33 p.m. — Milwaukie Public Works Department says crews are heading out to plow the streets.  In Ardenwald, S.E. 32nd Ave., S.E. Johnson Creek Blvd., and S.E. 42nd Ave. are snowplow routes.  If you have a car parked on the streets designated a snowplow route, you may want to move it off the street to prevent damages from the snow plowing.  Residential side streets are not plowed. See Snowplow Routes (Milwaukie).
