The work party is Saturday June 5th, 9 am – noon. Tools and refreshments will be provided. Find us at the base of the 37th Ave. entrance.

Due to repaving of the Springwater Trail, bicycle access may be difficult from SE 28th and SE 45th avenues trailheads.  Pedestrian access from 37th will be open.

In celebration of another successful year, we’ll have our 3rd annual Friends of Tideman Johnson barbeque immediately following the work party.  And, this will be an extra special occasion because our friend and stalwart supporter Louise is retiring in August.

We’ll have an assortment of Ottos sausages and side salads.  If you are a vegetarian, please let me know so we can make sure to have enough not-meat items.

We hope you can join us for the work party, or barbecue, or both.

Saturday’s project is very special: killing weeds!

Weather forecast for Saturday calls for partly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 60′s, but that could all change on a dime.

Tools and refreshments will be provided.

The work party volunteers will meet up at the boardwalk south of the S.E. 37th Ave. Springwater Trailhead at Tideman Johnson Park.

We’ve got a couple of big mulch piles we’re going to make disappear.  We know you all love mulchin’!

Plus, we’ll take a little extra time to enjoy the spring blossoms in the park – violets, trillium, red flowering current, Oregon grape, and elderberry are all blooming now.  Oh yeah – and skunk cabbage!

At Tideman Johnson Park we’ll be planting natives (only about 1300 to go) and mulching so they’re all tucked in and ready for their spring growth spurt.  Come find us down by the boardwalk (near Springwater Trail and SE 37th Ave. trailhead).

  • Saturday, March 6th, 9 a.m. – noon
  • Tools and refreshments provided
  • Volunteers of all ages welcome

Free volunteer recognition lunch will follow, at the Johnson Creek Watershed Council headquarters.

Please take a moment if you plan on attending the luncheon to register at the JCWC website so they’ll know how much lunch to make.

Refreshments and work tools are provided at the site.

We’ve had lots of weed-wackin’ and ivy pullin’ — including a group of 20 college students on Martin Luther King Day. Now it’s planting season.

And, come check out our new interpretive signs. The signs were designed by Marty Urman of the Johnson Creek Watershed Council and the text was thoroughly tested on Doug Bridge’s fifth-grade class at Lot Whitcomb Elementary (Photo of the sign is also in the attached EPacket).
