Work continues on the new stairs construction that will connect the Springwater Trail to the Tacoma St./Johnson Creek MAX station. Springwater Trail was open on Sunday while construction took a break. Part of the trail was cut away at the west abutment of the railroad crossing overpass. A barricade was set in place around the cutaway for safety.
The trail will close again on Monday when work continues. The trail is expected to reopen full and detours removed after September 28. The trail closed on Sept. 17 for Portland General Electric utility work and stairs construction.
