The Ardenwald Parents Teacher Organization (PTO) announced three upcoming community events.

‘Graveyard’ events will close S.E. 43rd Ave.

A one-block section of S.E. 43rd Ave. in Milwaukie will be closed this Sunday to through traffic for a community event.

S.E. 43rd Ave. will be closed between S.E. Johnson Creek Blvd. and S.E. Roswell St. for the Davis Graveyard open house event on Sun., Oct. 17. The same section of S.E. 43rd Ave. will be closed again on Halloween night (Sun., Oct. 31).

Motorists are advised to use S.E. 42nd Ave. as a detour.

Motor vehicle access is restricted on S.E. 43rd Ave. for residents residing on the closed section of S.E. 43rd Ave. and for emergency vehicles.

Join Walk/Bike to School

The Ardenwald School community will participate in International Walk or Bike to School Day on Wednesday, October 6th, at 7:15 am at two start locations.

Students west of Ardenwald School will meet at Lisac’s Stove at the corner of S.E. 32nd Ave. and S.E. Boyd Street, and bike or walk down S.E. Wake St. Students east of Ardenwald School will meet at Roswell Market at the corner of S.E. 42nd Ave. and S.E. Roswell St, and walk or bike down S.E. Roswell St.

Residents and Ardenwald School students will join over 4 million students, parents and faculty around the world in actively getting to and from school. The event will help to enhance the health of our children, improve the health of the community and promote neighborhood livability.

Oct. 12th Regular Meeting Agenda

The Ardenwald-Johnson Creek Neighborhood Association’s Tuesday, October 12th regular meeting agenda is now available online (PDF download, Revised Oct. 11, 2010).

Two speakers will be present for a brief informational overview, or outreach, of two local ballot measures in the upcoming Nov. 2nd election.

Janine Settlmeyer will speak about the Voter-Owned elections (Measure 26-108), which applies to residents living in the Portland city limits of Ardenwald-Johnson Creek NDA.

Janis Alder will speak about the Library District Measure (26-114), which applies to residents living in the Multnomah County area of AJC NDA.

The usual neighborhood business, such as police and committee reports, are also on the agenda.
