October Street Closures and Traffic Impacts

A few events taking place in October will close or restrict access to some of the neighborhood streets in Ardenwald neighborhood.

The Sunday Parkway on Sunday, October 2nd, will close SE 29th Ave., SE Olsen St., and SE 40th Ave. to motor vehicles between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Restricted access will be allowed for residents on the route and for residents on the dead-end streets west of SE 29th Ave.

SE 43rd Ave. between SE Johnson Creek Blvd. and SE Roswell St. will close for Davis Graveyard events on Sunday, Oct. 9, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again on Monday, October 31, from 5:00 p.m to 10:00 p.m.

Public Forum for SAFE Oct. 10

The City of Milwaukie is proposing a monthly Safe Access For Everyone (SAFE) fee to cover the funding of ramps and sidewalk improvements to bring the community in compliance with the American Disability Act (ADA). The proposed fee would be imposed on both residential and commercial properties. A public forum will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Public Safety Building, 3200 SE Harrison St., Milwaukie. Friends of Tideman Johnson Park Work Party Oct. 1

Fall is officially here, and its the start of a new year of stewardship in Tideman Johnson park. In keeping with tradition, we will devote our October work party to removing invasives in and around our wetland while it is still relatively dry around the edges. You can choose how wet or dry you’d like to be!

Meet up at the boardwalk
Tools, gloves, and refreshments provided
Bring boots if you have ‘em

Meeting Returns at New Business, Same Location


Ardenwald-Johnson Creek Neighborhood Association’s regular meeting resumed Monday night at a new business, but still in the same location at the corner of SE 32nd Ave. and SE Olsen St. Milwaukie Cafe and Bottle Shop opened on Monday just in time for the neighborhood meeting. The atmosphere has changed significantly from the former with new colors, new lighting, and new laminate flooring.

The cafe is open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
