It’s springtime, which means weeds! They’re getting quite the foothold at Balfour Park, so: Because the City doesn’t have the staff for weeding and the park’s maintenance agreement with North Clackamas Parks & Rec does not include weeding, the AJC neighborhood and the Milwaukie Parks Foundation are rallying to Balfour Park’s aid, lest its pollinator-supporting shrubs and wildflowers be overrun by weeds both unsightly and unhelpful.
The details on the weekly weeding party:
- When: Every Monday, 6-7pm (with the exception of neighborhood meeting Mondays: usually the 4th Monday of the month)
- Where: Balfour Park (map it: 3039 SE Balfour St.)
- What to bring: Gloves, weeding tools, water
- How to RSVP: No need! Just show up.
