The “Welcome to Ardenwald” sign that stood in the island on SE 32nd Ave. near SE Meek St. was destroyed over the weekend.
The sign was discovered missing Sunday morning. Splintered wood from the sign and wooden posts were found laying near the island.
A large chunk of the sign was found further south in the gutter along SE 32nd Ave., but the rest of the sign could not be found.
The sign has been damaged in the past, at least once in 2006 and twice in 2010.
