JCWC Watershed Cleanup, BBQ Aug. 24

It’s almost time for the annual Johnson Creek Cleanup! In case you are not familiar, the is the one time each year we can safely go into the creek and pull out the ginormous piles of garbage that collect over the year. There are also opportunities to pick up garbage on dry land, including Tideman Johnson Park. You get to choose!  Here are many details:

Clean-Up from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
BBQ, Awards, and Raffle from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The Johnson Creek Watershed Council invites you to our 12th Annual Clean-Up! 

Volunteers will meet at 8:00 a.m. at Mill Park in Milwaukie before dispersing in groups to designated sites. Following the Clean-Up, we will be celebrating with a BBQ and awards ceremony (namely the team who found the weirdest trash item and dirtiest volunteer) from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. 

  • First time? No problem!
  • Participants of all ages invited
  • 100% Closed-toed shoes are required- Sorry, no Keens or similar shoes!
  • Dress in appropriate clothes that you don’t mind getting wet and muddy
  • Tools and gloves will be provided
  • Carpooling from Mill Park to clean-up sites encouraged

Come early – the first 200 volunteers to arrive will receive a fabulous 12th Annual Clean-Up T-shirt, designed by a local artist!
