Milwaukie NDA Friday Update – March 27, 2020

The Ardenwald-Johnson Creek Neighborhood Association will be relaying the City of Milwaukie NDA Friday Update on Ardenwald.org during the COVID-19 coranavirus pandemic.

From City of Milwaukie:

Hello neighborhood leaders and friends,

I’m not working tomorrow so this week’s Friday Update is coming out one day early.

Please take a look at #1 below for the latest updates that we have available on the web about COVID-19. I tried to highlight what has been added since last week’s Friday Update, but be sure to visit the city’s website regularly for the latest as it tends to change frequently.

What is the NDA Friday Update? This update is meant to provide timely information one time per week to community leaders like you who can then share this information with fellow board members and neighbors. The updates are also a good place to share information with other NDA leaders, so please feel free to submit information to include on future Friday Updates.

  1. Updates on Coronavirus (COVID-19) – There have been some changes from last week’s Friday Update so please take a look and share with your neighborhood. The additions from last week are highlighted in red below. One update is a temporary program for those living in the downtown area who need to park near their homes for extended periods of time due to illness, self-quarantine, or the need to care for someone ill. Read more about this temporary program below.
  2. Park Closures in Response to COVID-19

You can now learn all about the latest information that the city has with respect to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) from one web page located at www.milwaukieoregon.gov/covid. • COVID-19 Downtown Residential Parking Permit (Added resource this week)
    • The city has launched a temporary program for those living in the downtown area of Milwaukie who need to park near their homes for extended periods of time because of illness, self-quarantine due to exposure, or the need to care for someone ill.
    • If you live downtown and meet this criteria, you may apply for and receive a temporary permit to park in the lot across from City Hall or the library parking lot. The permits are limited to 2-week increments, with a maximum of four weeks per vehicle, to make sure enough parking stalls are available to those most in need.
    • To receive a permit, provide the following information to Shannan Coyle, police records specialist, at coyles@milwaukieoregon.gov:
      • Name and phone number
      • Address in downtown Milwaukie
      • License plate number, as well as the make and model of the vehicle receiving the permit.
    • Please respect the intention of this program and reserve city parking lot spaces for those most in need as much as possible.
