Springwater Trail Section to Close for Utility Work, Stairs Construction

A section of the Springwater Trail will temporarily close for utility work and stairs construction along the trail beginning mid-September.

Portland Parks & Recreation say the Springwater Trail between SE McLoughlin Blvd. and SE 45th Ave., will be closed from Monday, September 17 through Friday, September 28, 2018. This trail section passes through Tideman Johnson Park in the Ardenwald neighborhood.

During the closure, Portland General Electric will be replacing several utility poles along the trail.

At the same time, TriMet will be constructing new stairs to connect the Springwater Trail and Tacoma St./Johnson Creek MAX station.

Signs and detour maps will be in place at the trailheads to guide trail users. The detour route follows SE Johnson Creek Blvd., SE Tacoma St. and SE McLoughlin Blvd. via Tacoma St./Johnson Creek MAX station access.
