General Project Details
Harvey Street between 32nd Avenue and 40th Avenue will become a neighborhood greenway, which means a street that is a safer route for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists.
As part of this project, crews will:
- Construct a continuous 5-to-6-foot-wide sidewalk on the north side of Harvey Street between 32nd Avenue and 42nd Avenue that is accessible for all users and compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Repave Harvey Street, 33rd Avenue, 36th Avenue, and 42nd Avenue and repaint street markings.
- Replace the sidewalk on the west side of 42nd Avenue between Harvey Street and Howe Street so that it is 5-6 feet wide, accessible to all sidewalk users, and is free of barriers, such as mailboxes.
- Update the water and stormwater pipes under the street, to meet current standards, along Harvey Street, 33rd Avenue, 36th Avenue, Sherry Lane, 42nd Avenue, and Wake Court.
- Repair a sewer line under 40th Avenue.
- Install a flashing pedestrian crossing beacon at the intersection of Roswell Street and 42nd Avenue.
