Intersection work begins Tuesday

Construction work on the intersection for widening and traffic signal at SE Johnson Creek Blvd. at SE 32nd Ave. will begin Tuesday, August 5, 2014.

Jennifer Koozer, TriMet Community Affairs Representative Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Project, said the construction work for the westbound SE Johnson Creek Blvd. lane widening, traffic signal installation, and sidewalk ramp work was delayed for a few weeks.

Construction work was originally scheduled to begin early July. A reason for the delay was not provided in the update email.

Flaggers will control the intersection during the work hours. The flashing red light will be removed, but the intersection will continue to be a three-way stop during non-working hours.

The TriMet 75 line bus stop on westbound SE Johnson Creek Blvd. will be relocated to southbound SE 32nd Ave. near SE Furat Ct.

Trees were removed in February in preparation for the require intersection improvement in connection with the TriMet Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Tacoma Street/Johnson Creek station Park & Ride.
