Saturday 5/30: Come to the Archaeology Roadshow at Gateway Discovery Park

At our last neighborhood meeting, a representative from the Archaeology Roadshow came to tell us about their 14th annual Roadshow event, coming up soon on May 30. To quote their website:

The 14th annual Archaeology Roadshow, held in Portland, focuses on The Archaeology of Fire & Water and features dozens of exhibits and activities hosted by archaeologists and heritage specialists, representing universities, tribes, federal and state agencies, companies, and nonprofit organizations.

The Roadshow also invites visitors to bring personal objects (stone tools, pottery, animal bones) they wish to know more about. We’ll have a panel of experts on hand who will help interpret your find. No financial appraisals are given.

This is a free, family-friendly event where you can also learn how to throw a spear using an atlatl (what’s an atlatl?), make stone tools, discover hidden stories about Portland, and more!
